Accessibility statement
Last reviewed: October 24, 2026
Bridge Over Troubled Water (BOTW) believes every young adult, partner, and community member should be able to use our website and take part in our programs. We are committed to making bovertw.org accessible to people of all abilities.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the widely used standard for accessible websites.
What we do
Use brand colors and pairings that meet WCAG contrast requirements for text, buttons, and graphics.
Set body text at a readable size, with headings in a logical order so screen readers can move through each page.
Write descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
Label every form field and keep buttons and links large enough to tap easily on a phone.
Name each link's destination rather than using raw web addresses.
Caption our videos and avoid flashing content.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is ongoing. Our site is built on Squarespace, and some features, including third-party tools, may not yet fully meet our standard. We review the site regularly and fix issues as we find them.
Tell us about a barrier
If any part of our website or programs is hard to use, please tell us. Email info@bovertw.org or call 804-404-6398 and describe what happened and where. We'll respond within five business days and, where we can, provide the information in another format.
Program accommodations
If you need an accommodation to apply for or take part in Thrive 365, let us know. We'll work with you to make participation possible.
